Chandigarh, November 25

A delegation of the Panjab University Teachers Association (PUTA) comprising Prof Ronki Ram, Prof Navdeep Goyal, Prof Keshav Malhotra, Dr Mritunjay Kumar, president, PUTA, and Prof AS Naura, secretary, PUTA, met Manpreet Singh Badal, Minister of Finance, Punjab, in Bathinda.

The delegation apprised Badal of undue delay in adoption of the UGC pay scales as per the Seventh Pay Commission. After a detailed discussion on the matter, Badal assured to revise UGC scales as per the Sevent Pay Commission soon.

Badal also said he would have a meeting with officials concerned on November 30 to complete the process for the notification of the adoption of the pay scales.
