Railway underpass flooded in Panchkula

RAVI KUMAR

Panchkula, July 6

Rain continued to play havoc in the Sector 19 area as water entered many houses. Roads remained waterlogged and the railway underpass in Sector 19 was flooded, causing problems to commuters. Most areas in the sector and Abhaypur village were inundated and roads remained flooded for about an hour. The roads of old Housing Board Colony and HUDA houses were completely submerged.

It took MC officials over an hour to drain out the water from the underpass and submerged roads.

SE Vijay Goel said narrowing of drain due to encroachment in Punjab prevented faster flow towards Baltana. The MC also issued helpline ‘9416199393’ for people to share pictures and messages of waterlogging.
