Chandigarh, July 15

The recent rain has played havoc with city roads. The roads have been damaged at various areas posing a threat to the life of commuters.

Huge potholes could be seen on roads at several places. Roads around the Sector 14/15 roundabout have been damaged in the rain that lashed the city on Saturday. Roads in Sector 37 and Sector 22 have also suffered damages.

Surinder Singh, a resident of Sector 22, said: “Roads require immediate attention at several places. Dilapidated roads have been giving a tough time to commuters. At night, it becomes more risky to commute on these roads as it’s not possible to locate potholes. Road repair work is not likely to start soon as the MC did not have enough funds”.

MC officials said the department would soon carry out patch work on roads that were damaged by the rain.
