The team of Rajiv Yadav and Rohit Gowda won the four wheelers (4W) event by emerging as the fastest team to finish on the top in the 39th edition of the St John’s Old Boys’ Association (SJOBA) Annual Extreme Rally, which concluded on Sunday. Harpreet Bhola and Vikram Thakur claimed the second position, while Harvinder Bhola and Amber Udasi finished third. In the Moto Overall event, Dhritimaan Singh claimed the top position, followed by Nitish Bharadwaj at second and Happy Verma at third.
The rally concluded today after three days of high-octane motorsport action across Punjab and Himachal terrain. The rally began with a ceremonial flag-off at St John’s High School, Sector 26, and brought together competitors from across the country. Around 110 competitors, including 25 four-wheelers and 60 two-wheelers, passed through 12 special stages over three days.
The rally route passed through Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Hoshiarpur and Una. The event was conducted under the regulations and safety protocols of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India.
One of the major highlights of this year’s edition was the return of the much-awaited night stage, which tested drivers’ navigation skills. The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Chandigarh Golf Range, where winners across categories were awarded cash prizes exceeding Rs 2.5 lakh.
