Ravi helps ICF edge past IAF

Chandigarh, April 17

Ravi scored a brace as Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, stunned hosts Indian Air Force (IAF) 3-1 on the second day of Marshal Arjan Singh International Memorial Hockey Championship here on Wednesday.

Damanjit Singh converted a penalty corner in the 22nd minute to put the hosts ahead, but ICF drew level through Ravi three minute later.

Ravi struck again in the 60th minute to make it 2-1 for ICF. Deepak then hit home in the 64th minute to seal a 3-1 win for the side.  

In another match, Sri Lankan Air Force drubbed CISF 5-1. Mohammad Mukfer struck twice (32nd, 59th) while Awart Jones (45th), Udyashan (49th) and Sheran (49th) scored a goal each for Sri Lankan Air Force.  

Andan Wasim scored the consolation goal for CISF in the 60th. South Central Railway, meanwhile, registered a 6-3 win over Hockey Chandigarh and Hockey Patiala defeated Bangladesh Air Force 7-2. —TNS
