Chandigarh, October 22
A rehri-puller was killed after being hit by a car on the road separating Sector 26 and 28 this afternoon.
According to the police, the victim, identified as Ramcharan Prajapati, a resident of Kishangarh village, was hit by a Wagon-R, that was being driven by Simi Jaggi, a resident of Zirakpur.
The police said the rehri was hit from the rear side, leaving the victim seriously injured.
The injured was rushed to the PGI, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The police said a case had been registered on a complaint of Pardeep Sharma, an eyewitness, against the car driver at the Sector 26 police station. She was arrested and later released on bail. The car was impounded by the police. —TNS
