The Samvaad Theatre group paid a rich tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel through a light and sound play, “Sardar: The Home Minister”, at Tagore Theatre today.

Written by Rajesh Atrey and directed by versatile actor-director Mukesh Sharma, the play highlighting the role and contribution of Patel to the freedom struggle, depicting him as a leader of poor peasants and downtrodden masses. Endowed with great sense, uprightness, honesty and conviction, he was credited for integrating over 500 princely states with the Indian Union.

Sachin Sharma, Yashpal Tewari, Sanjay Sharma (narrator), Mohit Sharma , Shubham, Mayank, Arvind and Sachin Sharma excelled in their roles.

Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore was the chief guest on the occasion.
