Road rage: 5 held for thrashing biker

CHANDIGARH: Five persons have been arrested for allegedly thrashing a motorcyclist following a road rage incident on November 19.

Five persons have been arrested for allegedly thrashing a motorcyclist following a road rage incident on November 19.

According to the police, complainant Shishan Kumar, a resident of Raipur Khurd village, reported that he was going to meet his friend in Mohali on his motorcycle when a speeding car passed by closely near the CRPF camp at Hallo Majra.

The police said the victim asked the occupants of the car to drive carefully following which they blocked his way and made him stop his motorcycle.

The complainant stated that the occupants came out of the car and thrashed him with baseball bats. The suspects also snatched the victim's purse containing money and documents. The suspects then escaped from the spot.

The victim noted down the registration number of the car and informed the police about the incident following which a case under Sections 147, 149, 341, 323, 427, 506, 356 and 379 of the IPC was registered at the Sector 31 police station.

The police said later the five suspects -- Vimal (29), Manoj Kumar (19), Sandeep (21) Manoj (18) and Ashu (19), all residents of Hallo Majra, were arrested in the case.
