Robert Vadra visits Chandigarh, praises city’s sporting culture

Businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, arrived in Chandigarh on a private visit. He was received by Congress leader Chander Mukhi Sharma, Secretary General of South Asia Basketball Association.
Sharma, a former councillor, discussed Chandigarh’s politics and sports, particularly basketball, with Vadra. Both noted Chandigarh’s distinct sporting culture and the need to encourage school leagues and mentor young athletes.
Sharma mentioned Miraya Vadra, Vadra’s daughter, was an accomplished basketball player during his tenure as Secretary General of Basketball Federation of India. Vadra appreciated Chandigarh’s civic ethos and reiterated the family’s interest in grassroots sports, supporting initiatives that blend academics, gender equity, and safe play.
