Rs 3 lakh stolen from house

Chandigarh: An amount of Rs 3 lakh, jewellery and other items were stolen from a house in Sector 45. According to the police, complainant Lait Bhardwaj of Sector 45 reported that Rs 3 lakh, gold and silver jewellery, ATM cards and some documents were stolen from his house on June 17. The thief entered the house through the front door after breaking the lock. A case has been registered at the Sector 34 police station. TNS

Woman held with heroin

Chandigarh: A 40-year-old woman, a resident of the Sector 25 colony, has been nabbed with heroin. According to the police, Seema was arrested from near a public toilet in Sector 25 with 5 gm of heroin. The police have registered a case against the woman under the NDPS Act at the Sector 11 police station. She was arrested and produced before a court, which remanded her in judicial custody. TNS

Chandigarh: Light rain or thundershowers are likely in Chandigarh over the next two days. According to the Meteorological Department, rain/thundershowers are expected on Wednesday and the day after.
