The school organised a special assembly to celebrate Republic Day at Ryan International School, Sector 49-B, Chandigarh. Brig Vikram Goswami, VSM, Indian Army (retd), and Dr Yash Bala, Director, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, at Paras Bliss Hospital, Panchkula, graced the occasion. The Scholar Badge Ceremony was also held to felicitate the scholars of Classes III to V of the previous session. 

Sacred Heart, Chandigarh 

Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School celebrated the 70th Republic Day with enthusiasm. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the national flag by Renu Sahu, Sub-Inspector, Industrial Area, Mohali, Nisha, Principal, and Lucy, manager. This was followed by march past by contingents of Class V and NCC cadets. Graceful dances and spell binding play ‘My India, My Pride, depicting the rich heritage of the country, mesmerised the audience. 

GNPS, Chandigarh 

Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36-D, celebrated Republic Day with fervour. The event began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the national anthem. Principal Gurnam Kaur Grewal urged the students to work with honesty and dedication for the nation. An impressive parade by NCC cadets added to the patriotic fervour. The school reverberated with the rhythmic beats of patriotic songs. Speeches and poetry recitation were the other highlights of the day. 

Satluj Public, Panchkula

A special assembly was organised to mark Republic Day at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula. The celebrations began with the unfurling of national flag by Director-Principal Krit Serai, followed by the national anthem, patriotic dances and songs. Painting, quiz and essay-writing competitions were also held. Three Satlujians received Republic Day district prize in the field of sports. Nehal Pajni and Kawalpreet Singh of Class XII and Umang Singla of Class VIII were awarded for sports achievements at national level. 

Mount Carmel, Chandigarh 

Republic Day was celebrated at Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh. The day began with a welcome speech by head girl Jinsa Elizabeth George. Founder Directors, Charles J Samuel, Annie Charles Samuel and Principal Parveena John Singh then took the salute of a march past by the contingents of the four houses and Scouts & Guides of the school. The programme comprised patriotic songs by the school choir and speeches. Students of the Hindi Dramatic Club presented a street play on the theme of republic and corruption. The programme ended with a vote of Thanks by head boy Shaurya Pahuja.
