Samarvir golf championship from today in Chandigarh

The Indian Golf Union (IGU) backed Samarvir Sahi Amateur Golf Championship will be played at the Chandigarh Golf Club from Feburary 24 to 27.

The annual championship is held in honour of late Samarvir Singh Sahi, fondly remembered as “Monty,” a gifted golfer of the Chandigarh Golf Club.

Instituted by his family in his memory, the tournament has grown into one of the most respected events on the Indian amateur golf calendar. It was started by his father GPS Sahi and sister Meenu Sahi Mamik to celebrate Samarvir’s passion for the game.

“We are honoured to host the Samarvir Sahi Amateur Golf Championship, a regular fixture on our golf calendar and one that marks the legacy of our club,” said Maj RS Virk (retd), president, Chandigarh Golf Club.
