A local resident claimed to have seen a sambar roaming in the Sector 65 residential area here today evening.
Varjeet Sethi, a local resident, said the animal was spotted at around 7 pm near the club lane. Sethi added that he tried to contact the Forest Department to help the animal get back to the forest area but in vain.
When contacted, Guraman Singh, district forest officer, Mohali, said he got the information about a sambar roaming in the area. “I have sent a team there, which is trying to locate the animal,” he added.
