Sana enters final

Chandigarh, July 19

Sana Khanna upset top seed Sukhmani Kaur 9-3 to march into the girls’ U-18 final in the ongoing Roots-AITA Champion Series (CS-7) National Ranking Tennis Tournament at the Roots Academy in Zirakpur on Thursday.

In the final, Sana will play fourth seed Riya Kaushik, who overcame Jaskirat Kaur 9-6 in the semifinals.

Earlier, in the quarterfinals, Sana humbled Amreen Sidhu 9-3, while Riya registered a 9-2 win over Aditi Singh.

Top seed Dipin Wadhwa beat Aakarshit Mahajan 9-5 to set up the title clash with Udayvir Singh. The second seed Yuvraj Singh 9-2 in the semifinals to stay in contention for the title.

The duo earlier beat Siddharth and Aditya Balda in their respective quarterfinal matches.  

In the boys’ U-14 semifinals, top seed Aditya Chauhan registered a 7-5 6-4 win over Lakshya Gupta, while Rijul Bhatia dumped Rishi Dahiya 6-1 6-0.
