The PGI Safai Karamchari Contract Workers Union today ended its chain hunger strike in view of the order of the Punjab and High Court.
Sanitation workers and hospital attendants were on chain fast for the past 49 days over non-fulfilment of their pending demands.
Sripal, an office-bearer of the union, said their demands include implementation of ‘equal pay for equal work’ and regularisation of their services as per the notification issued by the Union Government.
