Chandigarh: An annual alumni meet was organised for the first time by the Department of Sanskrit and Dayanand Chair for Vedic studies at the the Gandhi Bhawan, PU. Former students, research scholars and teachers attended the meet. Many of them shared their personal experiences during their time at the university.
PU Rose Fest from Feb 8
Chandigarh: PU Registrar Prof Karamjeet Singh on Tuesday inaugurated the Festival Secretariat of the 10th Panjab University Rose Festival to be held from February 8 to 10. The registrar also unveiled a poster of the festival. The sale of forms for participating in various competitions also began at the secretariat. The cost of forms will be Rs 300 per participant per competition for singing, dancing, fashion and rose prince and princess and Rs 100 for other competitions.
Special lecture at Defence dept
Chandigarh: The Department of Defence and National Security Studies organised a special lecture by Maj Gen Amarjit Singh (retd). Maj Gen Amarjit explained the genesis of India as a nation and the role of the government to keep the core values of the nation intact.
Mayor honours Social Work team
Chandigarh: City Mayor Davesh Moudgil honoured a team of the Ann Anand for Animals led by Asst Prof Gaurav Gaur, Centre for Social Work, PU. Hiteshi Arora, Ishita Choudhary and Nitika Saini, who are pursuing their masters in social work from PU, have bagged the award. — TNS
