Ludhiana's Sanvir Singh gets highest bid of Rs 13.20L at Sher-e-Punjab T20 League auction
Ludhiana all-rounder Sanvir Singh received the highest bid in the first half of the auction for the upcoming season of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League, with Fazilka Falcons securing the all-rounder for Rs 13.20 lakh.
Among the other major picks, Naman Dhir was bought by Amritsar Soormas for Rs 10.80 lakh, while Amolpreet Singh joined Mohali Kings for Rs 8.20 lakh. Harnoor Singh and Ashwani Kumar were both picked by Bathinda Royals for Rs 7 lakh each, while Sukhdeep Bajwa was acquired by Jalandhar Warriors for Rs 6 lakh.
Harpreet Brar was picked by Mohali Kings for Rs 4 lakh, while Mayank Markande joined Amritsar Soormas for Rs 1.50 lakh. Other iconic players, including Vihaan Malhotra, were picked by Fazilka Falcons for Rs 1.5 lakh; Krish Bhagat (Rs 2.5 lakh) and Salil Arora (Rs 8 lakh) by Ludhiana Lions; Emanjot Chahal (Rs 1.5 lakh) and Vishwapratap Singh (Rs 1.5 lakh) by Jalandhar Warriors.

Every cricketer dreams of playing at the PCA Stadium in Mohali, and through this league, players from across Punjab will get the opportunity to play at this iconic venue, gain valuable exposure and showcase their talent on a bigger platform,” said Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) president Amarjit Singh Mehta.
Meanwhile, the A+ category of players available at the auction also received a good response. Prerit Dutta (Rs 3.9 lakh), Raghu Sharma (Rs 2.1 lakh) and Anmoljeet Singh (Rs 1 lakh) were picked by Fazilka Falcons. Amritsar Soormas picked Rahul Kumar (Rs 8.4 lakh), Sahil Khan (Rs 1 lakh) and Jashanpreet Singh (Rs 1 lakh). Arjun Rajput was picked by Ludhiana Lions for Rs 4.06 lakh, while Jassinder Singh (Rs 1.90 lakh) and Abhijeet Garg (Rs 1 lakh) were the other two picks.
Ayush Goyal made it to the Mohali Kings squad for Rs 4.6 lakh, followed by Sagar Virk and Jaskaran Singh (for Rs 1 lakh each). Uday Saharan got picked by Bathinda Royals for Rs 4.2 lakh, while Gaurav Chaudhary attracted Rs 3 lakh and Sumit Sharma was picked by the squad for Rs 1 lakh. Anmol Malhotra was claimed for Rs 6.2 lakh by Jalandhar Warriors, while Sukhdeep Bajwa received Rs 6 lakh and Abhinay Sharma was picked for Rs 2 lakh till the filing of this report.
“The first half of the auction reflected the tremendous depth of cricketing talent in Punjab. The franchises have shown great enthusiasm in identifying and investing in players who have the potential to make a mark at the highest level. Sanvir Singh’s selection as the highest pick is particularly exciting, and the opportunity to play alongside Shubman Gill will be invaluable for him,” added PCA secretary Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer.
The Sher-e-Punjab T20 League, a franchise-based tournament, will be organised by the PCA for the first time from August 30 to September 13. The season will feature prominent Punjab cricketers, including Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar, as marquee players. All marquee players were picked up for Rs 10 lakh each.
