Saupin’s School-32 walk away with basketball title

Chandigarh, August 1

Apaar Sood scored 20 points as Saupin’s School, Sector 32, defeated KBDAV, Sector 7, to win the boys’ U-14 inter-school basketball championship.

The Sector 32 outfit recorded a (42-23) win over the Sector 7 team in the title clash. Sagar remained the top performer for the losing side.

New Public School, Sector 18, claimed the third position by defeating St Kabir School, Sector 26. The winning team recorded a (50-35) win.

Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, claimed the girls’ U-14 title by registering a (52-17) win over Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26. Khushi was the top performer for the Sector 36 team, whereas Mehar gathered maximum points for Strawberry School.

Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, registered a one-sided (24-00) win over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, to claim the third position. Aasmi remained the top performer for the winners.

Bhavan Vidyalaya win football match

In the boys’ U-14 inter-school football tournament, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, recorded a (2-1) win over Vivek High School, Sector 38. Star striker Rehan Kalyan (8th minute, 9th minute) scored two back-to-back goals for the winning side. The team of Government Model High School, Sector 36, was awarded walkover as Ryan International School, Sector 49, failed to turn up at the venue.
