School put on notice for bus mishap in Mohali

MOHALI: The Mohali administration issued a show-cause notice to a private school, whose Class V student had sustained injuries after falling from a school bus a few days ago.

Mohali, July 11

The Mohali administration issued a show-cause notice to a private school, whose Class V student had sustained injuries after falling from a school bus a few days ago.

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said the management of Smart Wonder School, Sector 71, has been served a show-cause notice, issued by the Mohali SDM-cum-chairman of Safe School Vahan Scheme Committee, for being negligent in regard to safety norms.

“We have issued a notice, seeking their (school) explanation within 10 days,” said the DC.

It is pertinent to mention that Harkaran Partap Singh, a Class V student, had fallen from the school bus while alighting from it following alleged negligence of the bus driver.

The Mohali police had booked the driver, conductor and lady attendant of the bus in this connection on the complaint of victim’s mother Kamaljit Kaur. The boy has lost three teeth in the incident. — TNS
