Chandigarh, July 9

The UT police have arrested another accused in the case pertaining to a clash between two groups of youths in Sector 44. He has been identified as Puneet Arora.

A group of youths carrying sharp weapons, led by Puneet, had attacked Ankur Panwar leaving him seriously injured. Ankur’s accomplice had fired two shots in retaliation.

Puneet, accompanied by around 12 armed assailants, had arrived at the spot in two cars and a motorcycle. They fled the scene when Ankur’s accomplice opened fire.

The police said efforts were being made to identify the other suspects who were accompanying Puneet.

Ankur and his four friends were arrested on Monday night. The countrymade pistol used in the crime was also recovered by the police.
