Sector 11 college admn staff not well-versed with accounting rules: Audit report
The audit and inspection of accounts was conducted for period from April 2022 to March 2025, as per the orders of the UT Chief Secretary
A special audit report of the Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector 11, has pointed out the administrative staff posted for the management of funds are not well versed with the accounting rules.
The audit and inspection of accounts was conducted for period from April 2022 to March 2025, as per the orders of the UT Chief Secretary.
Based on the records available and information provided by the college, audit teams reported that no instances of embezzlement or misappropriation of funds were observed. It is evident from the audit report that the administrative staff posted in the college for the management of funds are not well-versed with the accounting rules/procedures. One of the reasons for such non-efficient utilisation of Personal Ledger Account (PLA) funds is the lack of guidelines defining the scope of expenditure out of specific PLA funds. To resolve the issue, systemic intervention is required at the level of the Administrative Department to establish clear guidelines for the effective utilisation of such funds, concluded the report. — TNS
