Sector 36 college wins folk dance event at youth fest

MCM DAV College, Sector 36, won the group folk dance event during the Chandigarh Youth Festival organised by the Sports Department at Tagore Theatre in Sector 18 here. The team of Government College of Arts, Sector 10, claimed the second position. In the group folk song, DAV College, Sector 10, emerged the winner, followed by the team of Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, and Post Graduate Government College, Sector 42, at second and third positions.

In painting, Mehak Saini of the Sector 11 college claimed the first position, followed by Nikhil Kumar of DAV College, Sector 10. Arshdeep Kaur of Sector 11 claimed the third position.

Karika Thakur of MCM DAV College won the declamation event. Simranjit Kaur of the PGGC, Sector 11, Shivam of DAV College and Harleen Kaur of Punjab Engineering College claimed the first three positions in that order in the poetry writing. Devika Khosla of SD College, Sector 32, won the story writing event.
