Nearly 1,000 policemen will keep a close vigil in and around the Indian School of Business, the venue of the two-day Progressive Punjab Investors Summit starting from December 5 at Sector 81 here.

Talking about the security arrangements, Mohali Superintendent of Police (City-1), Harvinder Singh Virk, said five officers of the SP rank and 20 officers of the DSP rank had been deputed to supervise security arrangements here. “Under these officers, 40 inspectors and 200 sub-inspectors and around 1,000 police personnel will remain on duty round-the-clock,” Virk said.

Similarly, the state government has deputed 82 PCS-level officers for liaison with the dignitaries. Mohali Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said the district administration had deputed Mohali SDM Jagdeep Saigal to look after all arrangements for the summit.

“The city roads leading to the international airport and the state capital are being given a new look,” Dayalan said while adding that those who wanted to attend the summit could register themselves online.

“Anyone who wants to attend the summit can register themselves on progressivepunjab.com. Information regarding the summit can be obtained from the digital app, Progressive Punjab. All information related to various sessions of the summit will be available on this app,” Dayalan added.
