Security guard loses phone to snatcher

CHANDIGARH: An unidentified miscreant snatched a mobile phone from a cyclist near the Hallo Majra light point on Tuesday night.

An unidentified miscreant snatched a mobile phone from a cyclist near the Hallo Majra light point on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the complainant, Gurjeet Singh of Behlana, Chandigarh, works as a security guard at Elante Mall, Industrial Area, Phase-I.

The police said the victim was returning home from work on cycle when another cyclist came from behind and snatched his mobile phone near the Hallo Majra light point around 11.30 pm.

The police said the accused escaped in the forest area of Mauli Jagran leaving his cycle and some documents on the spot.

On getting information, the police reached the spot and started an investigation.

A case has been registered at the Sector 31 police station.

Over 165 snatching incidents have already been reported in the city this year.
