Seven arrested after brawl outside Panchkula’s Sector 5 nightclub

The police have arrested seven men, including three bouncers, following a violent brawl outside the Dimokaa Night Club in Sector 5 on the night of May 24. The clash escalated into widespread hooliganism and the vandalism of several vehicles.

The arrested accused have been identified as Manish (alias Mani), Narayan Dutt (alias Nitin), and Gaurav, all residents of Pinjore; Sukhwinder Singh (alias Sukhi) of Panchkula; and Daulat, Dhruv, and Sikandar (alias Mangi), all residents of Mohali.

According to the Sector 5 police, Narayan Dutt and his friends arrived at the club on May 24 but were denied entry as the venue was at full capacity. This triggered a heated argument between the youths and the bouncers, which quickly turned violent. During the clash, both sides vandalised property. The bouncers allegedly damaged two vehicles belonging to the youths, while the youths retaliated by damaging the club premises.

Sector 5 police station in-charge, Inspector Rupesh Chaudhary, emphasised that disrupting public order, creating a ruckus and damaging property would not be tolerated. Following the incident, police officials held a meeting with club and restaurant owners from Sectors 5, 9, 10, and 11, instructing them to rein in their security staff.

“If a customer or antisocial element creates a dispute, operators or bouncers must immediately inform the police instead of taking the law into their own hands,” officials stated.

ACP Vikram Nehra stated that club operators must only employ verified bouncers with no criminal background. He emphasised that security personnel must treat customers respectfully, avoid unnecessary force and operate strictly within the law. Additionally, strict instructions were issued against serving hookahs, along with warnings regarding late-night noise pollution from loud music.
