SGGS, Sacred Heart cagers continue to shine

CHANDIGARH:Sri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGGS), Sector 26, continued their winning streak on the second day of the Junior State Basketball Championship (U-19) at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here today.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGGS), Sector 26, continued their winning streak on the second day of the Junior State Basketball Championship (U-19) at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here today. 

In their second league encounter, the SGGS boys logged a 58-41 win over New Public School, Sector 18. Mohit (20 points) and Abhishek (17 points) were the two main performers for the winning side. Manjinder (18 points) and Kanwar (10 points) were the top-scorers for the Sector 18 team.

Gurukul School hammered Panjab University Campus 52-15. Lakshya scored eight points for Gurukul School, while Eshant (8 points) was the top-scorer for the campus team. PMLSD Public School, Sector 18, defeated Chitkara School, Sector 25, 92-71.

Jaskaran (28 points) was the best performer for the Sector 32 outfit, while Surjeet scored 17 points for Chitkara School. SGGS Collegiate School defeated Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, 82-55 with Tejbir scoring 24 points. Harmanpreet scored 21 points for Guru Nanak School.

Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, won the opening match by defeating Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, 53-25. Liza Deb added 14 points to the winning tally, while Kismatt (10 points) was the best performer for Strawberry Fields. In the second match, Guru Nanak Public School registered a 41-8 win over Sacred Heart School, Sector 26. Niharika (8 points) shined for Guru Nanak School, while Sagal and Paridhi added two points each for the Sacred Heart team.
