Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport adjudged best in Asia-Pacific

Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport (IXC) has been adjudged the Best Airport (2-5 Million passengers) in Asia-Pacific region for 2024 by Airports Council International - Airport Service Quality (ACI-ASQ).

This is the sixth time the airport as won the prestigious award which includes a total of 95 airports globally. The airport got a 5/5 rating in Overall Satisfaction and experience.

The ACI ASQ awards recognise airport excellence in customer experience worldwide, based on data from the ACI ASQ programme’s departures and arrivals and comercial surveys.

During the 2022-2023 period, more than 36.5 lakh passengers were recorded at the airport, marking a 67 per cent hike in the footfall from the previous year.

Recently, the international airport rolled out next-gen mechanised cleaning systems. Child Care Rooms in the domestic and international Departure areas (post security) have been upgraded with enhanced space and added comfort.

Ten self-check-in service kiosks have also been installed in the departure area for flyers’ convenience.
