A team of traffic marshals of the Chandigarh police conducted a workshop for the senior students of Shishu Niketan Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 22, Chandigarh. The theme of the workshop was “Bringing change through the youth power”. The cops sensitised the students about traffic rules, use of cycle tracks, helmet wearing, obtaining a driving license and the urgency of taking accident victims to the hospital. Principal Amita Khorana said such workshops go a long way in promoting road safety, especially amongst the youth.

The Gurukul, Panchkula

Adhiraj Singh Thakur, a student of KG of The Gurukul, Panchkula, bagged the gold medal at the 16th National Shastrang Championship organised by Shastrang Indian Modern Martial Art, Panchkula. Over 300 participants from all over the country participated in the championship. Principal Harsimran Kaur congratulated him and lauded his courage of venturing into a difficult and less popular zone.

New Public School, Chandigarh

In the memory of the Founder Principal, Late SH Singh, popularly known as “Big Aunty”, The New Public School organised “Big Aunty Math Quest”. Animesh Madaan from Bhavan Vidyalaya School Sector 15, Panchkula, bagged the first position and a cash prize of Rs 5000, Taveeshaa Keprate from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, Chandigarh, bagged the second position and a cash prize of Rs 3000, while Tamanna Aggarwal from Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, Chandigarh, bagged the third position and a cash prize of Rs 2000.

Kundan International, Chandigarh

Lohri was celebrated with fervour at Kundan International School. Principal, staff and students danced around the bonfire to rejoice the festival. The students came dressed in traditional Indian dresses, danced to the foot-tapping numbers. Principal Manjeet Jauhar apprised the students the history and relevance of the festival.

Shishu Niketan, Sec 43, Chandigarh

Lohri was celebrated with enthusiasm at the school. The day started with a special assembly where the significance of Lohri was told to the students. Principal Veena Arora lit the bonfire, wishing the students and staff a happy Lohri. Groundnuts, ‘rewri’, peanuts and popcorn were distributed to children.

Shemrock School, Mohali

Lohri was celebrated with full zeal on the premises of Shemrock School, Sector 69, Mohali. The programme started with Lohri pooja. The students also presented a cultural bonanza which included Punjabi ‘boliyaan’, folk songs, Lohri songs and poems.

St Soldier, Mohali

A workshop titled “Zero Investment Innovation” was organised by Sri Aurbindo Society at St. Soldier School, Mohali. Resource person Sukhminder Singh focused on the modern methods of teaching.

Green Castle, Sec 47, Chandigarh

Lohri was celebrated with enthusiasm on the school campus. All students and teachers danced around the bonfire. School Director Rajesh Kapoor informed the students about the importance of the day. The students sang, danced and enjoyed the day with ‘rewri’, popcorn and groundnuts.

AKSIPS-123 Smart School, Kharar

Lohri, was celebrated at AKSIPS-123 Smart School with great joy and enthusiasm. The celebration began with a special assembly wherein teachers enlightened the students about legacy of Dulla Bhatti.

Blue Bird High School, Panchkula

A capacity building workshop on the theme “Stress Management” was organised at Blue Bird High School, Panchkula. About 64 teachers from Panchkula and other cities of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh availed the workshop. Resource person Sneh Bansal, Assistant Professor, GCG College, Chandigarh, conducted the workshop.

Manav Rachna International, Mohali

The sixth Inter-Clan General Awareness Quiz was organised on the school campus. The quiz comprised a total of five rounds, including a special round for the students of grades I and II, who impressed the audience by their prompt and correct answers. Principal Taruna Vashisht appreciated the efforts of all students and congratulated the winners.

Vidya Valley School, Kharar

Students and staff expressed their admiration and gratitude to the Indian Army by celebrating Army Day with great enthusiasm. Students recited poems and patriotic songs. Inspiring videos related to the life and sacrifices of the Indian Army were shown to kids.

Ryan International School, Mohali

A competition for Mr and Miss Punjab was conducted at Ryan International School, Mohali, for the students of classes Montessori to II. Children came dressed in their traditional colourful costumes and spoke a few sentences on the culture of Punjab. TNS
