The Patiala Ki Rao Shooting Range needed more attention in terms of raising world-class infrastructure, said UT Adviser Dharam Pal during his maiden visit to the facility in Sector 25 here.
“It is a really good centre. However, there is a need for adding more facilities, including digital targets, updated equipment and others. I have asked officials to add such international-standard equipment. The UT Sports Department will help, if required. We will be upgrading the range in the coming months,” said UT Adviser Dharam Pal.
The Patiala Ki Rao Shooting Range was completed in 2013. However, the range is not fully automatic yet. This is the reason the city has not hosted a national competition so far. The facility was earlier under the UT Sports Department, but was later taken over by the Chandigarh Police.
