Sippy murder case: Heard gunshot, says prosecution witness
Chandigarh, August 13
A prosecution witness in the murder case of advocate Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu, aka Sippy Sidhu, stated that he heard a gunshot on the day of the incident.
The prosecution conducted the examination-in-chief of a resident of Sector 27 in the case today and the witness supported its theory.
In the chargesheet filed before the court, the CBI claimed that the witness had an early dinner on September 20, 2015. He and his servant were having a stroll in the front courtyard of the house when he heard a gunshot. Out of curiosity, he started walking towards the boundary wall of his house to check from where the sound of gunshots came. By the time he reached there, two more gunshots were fired in quick succession. In the meantime, his servant also came running towards him. He looked over the wall and saw a person of medium height walking away. The person suddenly stopped and turned back. Out of fear, he immediately ducked.
The CBI had arrested Kalyani Singh on June 15, 2022, on the allegation that she murdered Sippy Sidhu in the Sector 27 park on the night of September 20, 2015. — TNS
