Six days on, 2 arrested for youth’s murder

CHANDIGARH: Six days after a 26-year-old youth was murdered for asking three persons not to urinate in the open, the police have arrested two accused.

Six days after a 26-year-old youth was murdered for asking three persons not to urinate in the open, the police have arrested two accused.

Those arrested are Gulshan (26) and Jiyander, alias Ajay (22), both residents of EWS Colony, Dhanas. The duo was arrested from the bus stand at Jagadhri in Yamunanagar district of Haryana by a team, led by Inspector Lakhbir Singh, SHO of the Sector 11 police station.

The police said Gulshan was earlier convicted in a case of attempt to murder and rioting registered against him at the Sector 36 police station. He was out on bail.

The victim, Kuldeep, alias Luv Kush, was murdered on September 12. Kuldeep, along with his two friends, both named Vijay, was having ice cream when three persons arrived at the spot and started urinating in the open. Kuldeep objected to it that led to an altercation between them. Vijay, who escaped with a minor injury, said the accused first attacked with a helmet and then they pulled out sharp weapons. Kuldeep was attacked thrice on the chest and near the shoulder, which turned fatal for him. Vijay was also attacked with sharp weapons, leading to grave injuries.
