Soldiers remembered at special ceremony

CHANDIGARH: The Consulate General of Canada and the British Deputy High Commissioner hosted a joint Remembrance Day ceremony today to commemorate the contributions of the members of the Armed Forces of Canada, the United Kingdom and India.

The Consulate General of Canada and the British Deputy High Commissioner hosted a joint Remembrance Day ceremony today to commemorate the contributions of the members of the Armed Forces of Canada, the United Kingdom and India.

Mia Yen, Consul General for Canada, and Andrew Ayre, British Deputy High Commissioner, attended the ceremony to honour the sacrifice of the Army, Navy and Air Forces.

Consul General Yen said, “We remember the courage of generations of Commonwealth service men and women of all colours and creeds who fought bravely in defence of people and our shared values. Our democracies stand on rock hard foundations sanctified by their sacrifice.” — TNS
