Sonepat man arrested for murder bid, aide at large

CHANDIGARH: A resident of Sonepat in Haryana has been arrested for attempt to murder.

Chandigarh, February 15

A resident of Sonepat in Haryana has been arrested for attempt to murder. His accomplice is at large.

According to the police, the complainant, Tarsem Jain, had alleged that two unknown persons riding a Hyundai Creta thrashed him with an iron rod and threatened him with a pistol near Rajdhani Society in Sector 49 here on February 13. The victim had sustained injuries in the attack and was admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32 here.

A case in this connection was registered under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at the Sector 49 police station.

The police later arrested Sandeep, one of the suspects in the case.
