Special service organised in Tricity churches to mark Easter Sunday

The Tricity churches held special services to celebrate Easter Sunday , marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

At Christ Church CNI, Sector 18, Rev Rajan Sharda, Presbyter-in-Charge, stated that the event encouraged faith and the building of a relationship with God.

Brightly dressed families filled every corner of the church, their collective voices rising in harmony as they sang traditional carols of resurrection and life. The heavy, gray weight of mourning evaporated, replaced by an atmosphere of bright relief and communal joy.

During the sermon, Rev Sharda called on the congregation to follow the teachings of Jesus on love, forgiveness and service to others.

Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu attended the prayers and stated that the teachings of Jesus Christ served as a guide for humanity.

At King’s Cathedral, the celebrations began with a sunrise service that drew hundreds of devotees. The sermon focused on the theme of “New Life”, highlighting the transformative power of faith. The church interior was adorned with white lilies, symbolising purity and the joy of the resurrection. Following the main service, families shared traditional Easter meals at a community gathering, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and brotherhood.

In Panchkula, New Life Churches India celebrated with a service under the theme “Christ Risen from the Dead”. Senior Pastor Bharat Tusawer explained the significance of the resurrection and its relevance for believers today. The “Spread the Word” Church in Phase 8B, Mohali, also held an Easter programme featuring hymns and dance performances by children. Pastor Teresa Greenho from Bengaluru delivered the sermon. The programme concluded with a community meal for the entire congregation.

Across the region, members of the Christian community exchanged gifts and cakes, marking a period of spiritual awakening and social harmony.
