Chandigarh, February 6

International cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh from Punjab and Gautam Gambhir from Delhi along with the members of the Punjab and Delhi Ranji Trophy teams paid their homage to late Dhruv Pandove, cricketer from Punjab who died in a road accident at the age of 19, in January 1992.

He was son of former first-class cricketer Mahender Pandove. His final innings was a neat 73 against South Zone in the Deodhar Trophy match at Sambalpur on January 28, 1992. Three days later he was no more.

He had played in the company of legendary cricketers Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sorabh Ganguly and Anil Kumble. He was a contemporary of Tendulkar when Sachin's international career was quite young. He was the youngest player to complete 1000 runs in Ranji Trophy and also the youngest player to score a century in the National Championship.

Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir unveiled a portrait of Dhruv Pandove facing the cricket ground in the presence of RP Pandove, honorary secretary, Patiala Cricket Association and some other prominent citizens of the city.
