Chandigarh, December 28

Punjab beat Uttarakhand 3-0 in the 71st North Zone Santosh Trophy Football tournament at Maharaja Laxman Sen Memorial College in Sundernagar.

Rajbir Singh (17 min, 74 min) scored twice for the winning team. Baltej Singh also (32 min) contributed with one goal. Punjab dominated the proceeding throughout the match. 

J&K played out a  1-1 draw with Haryana. Haryana took the lead through Amarjeet in the 18 minute but J&K’s Mir Abdul Hanan’s header equalised the score in the 87th minute. Jammu and Kashmir’s two players were shown the yellow card during the match. Chandigarh will take on Delhi while Uttar Pradesh will face hosts Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.
