A ‘nukkad natak’ was staged by students of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, at Sector 17 on the theme of ‘Save environment’. They encouraged the viewers to plant save environment by planting more and more trees.

DPS, Chandigarh

Class IX students of Delhi Public School presented their annual class show, Jhankaar — Folk beats of India, with enthusiasm. More than 300 students participated in the inter-section folk dance competition.

Govt Model, Dhanas

Students and staff of Government Model High School-I, Dhanas, took election pledge during their morning assembly keeping in view the forthcoming Lok Sabha election. An awareness rally was also organised by the Electoral Literacy Club of the school to motivate people to casting vote.

St Xavier’s, Mohali

Yashika of Class IX brought laurels to St Xavier’s High School, Mohali, by winning the third runners-up trophy in visual category and first runners-up trophy in listening at the 12th Punjab and Chandigarh UCMAS Abacus and Mental Arithmetic State-Level Competition. The event was held at LPU, Jalandhar.

Shishu Niketan, Chandigarh

Students of Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector 43, Chandigarh, celebrated Mother’s Day. The highlight of the day was a lecture delivered by Dr Nupur on cancer in women and lifestyle and nutritional reasons associated with it. Mothers had an informative and a fun-filled day as the little ones presented a cultural programme.

The British, Panchkula

The three-day XXIV Haryana State Chess Championship 2019-20 (Girls & Boys) began at The British School, Sector 8, Panchkula. The Championship is being organised by the Chess Association (Panchkula). More than 200 students from 15 states participated in the championship in various categories.

MJS Ramgarhia Public, Chandigarh

MJS Ramgarhia Public School, Sector 27-D, Chandigarh, celebrated its Founder’s Day with fervour. Students participated in various competitions, including drawing, best-out-of-waste and rangoli. Principal Sudesh Kohli lauded the students. Refreshment was given to all students and teachers. 

St Soldier Paradise, Dhakoli

A newspaper reading competition was held at St Soldier Paradise School in order to inculcate the reading habit among students. Manleen of GGS House stood first and Sanjana of MPS House ranked second. Principal Neelam Bhar spoke on importance of reading. 

Ryan International, Chandigarh

Saumya Jaiswal and Kawleen Kaur of Class XI, Rubab of Class X and Aadiyta Rampal, a student of Class XII, of Ryan International School, Chandigarh, were part of the junior roller hockey girls team and junior roller hockey boys team that represented India in the 18th (inline) Roller Hockey Asian Championship held in South Korea. It was organised by the World State International Federation. Children were invited to the Governor’s residence and felicitated. They were accorded praises and accolades for bringing laurels to India and to the city.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

Students of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula, participated in an inter-school competition held at Sacred Heart School, Chandigarh. The team consisting of Sidharth, Mayank and Lavya won the third prize in the competition named ‘Mind Matters’. The school’s science quiz team, which consisted of Kabir and Parv, also won the second prize. Principal Gulshan Kaur congratulated the winners.

MRA Sr Sec, Chandigarh

MRA Senior Secondary Model School organised assembly to educate students on the importance of voting. A pledge was taken by all students and teachers that they will cast their vote and motivate others to do the same. Principal Seema Biji talked about the right to vote.
