Chandigarh: St Stephen’s lads win cricket meet

St Stephen’s Cricket Academy, Sector 45, Chandigarh, won the 1st NCCA Cricket Cup by posting a five-wicket win over Himachal Cricket Academy (HCA), which concluded at the New Chandigarh Cricket Academy.

Batting first, the HCA lads posted 126 before getting all out in 31 overs. Daksh Redhu stunned HCA top-order by claiming Navneet (0), Darsh Rana (3) and finding Arjun Shikari (1) short of crease with help of Ojas. However, the HCA innings was stabled by Ryan Sahib Athwal, who posted 42. He was ably supported by Shivansh Goyal (40). Redhu claimed 3/29, while Shivam Patel (2/25).

In reply, the Sector 45 team posted 127/5 in 27.1 overs. Opener Jaibaan Singh gave the side a flying start, as he posted 57. Soni scored 19 to ensure the title win for the side. Skipper Kartik Kaushal remained the pick of the bowlers, as he claimed 3/29.
