Chandigarh: St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-C, celebrated Indian Constitution Day with enthusiasm. Students of Class X conducted a special morning assembly. Through a short skit, memories were refreshed that how Dr BR Ambedkar had to go through hardships before he became the Chairman of the constituent Assembly. Vadika, a student of X-D, threw light on the significance of celebrating Constitution Day.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh

Chandigarh: ‘Akhand Path’ was organised at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate Public School, Sector 26, Chandigarh. Students participated enthusiastically and the event concluded with a mesmerising ‘Shabad Gayan’.

Shivalik Public

Chandigarh: Shivalik Public School, Sector 41-B, Chandigarh celebrated its annual prize distribution and cultural programme — ‘Resonance’. Principal Gurkiranjeet Nalwa presented the school’s annual report. Students mesmerised the audience with performances in colourful attire. Theme-based performances on ‘Swachh Bharat’ and ‘Say No to Plastics’ were the highlights of the programme.

Mount Carmel

Zirakpur: The annual sports day of Mount Carmel School, Zirakpur, was held with pomp and show. School Directors Annie Charles and Charles Samuel inaugurated the Mount Carmel Cricket Academy on the same day. Musical drills by students won the heart of the audience. Annual prize distribution

Patiala: Paradise International School celebrated its 18th annual prize distribution function with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students presented a cultural bonanza on the occasion, which started with the recitation of shabad “Jo mange thakur apne te” followed by a welcome song. The students enacted various stage shows. Students of different classes presented Rajasthani, Gujarati, Punjabi and western dance items. A glimpse of Punjabi culture was depicted in dance forms like jhoomar and bhangra by boys and giddha, jindua and luddi by girls, which stole the show. Amardeep Singh Rai, IG, Patiala Range, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He gave away prizes to students who excelled in academics, sports and other curricular activities. The principal presented the annual report on the occasion.

National Cadet Corps Day

Senior Secondary Model School, Punjabi University, Patiala, celebrated National Cadet Corps Day on Monday. NCC cadet Manpreet Singh delivered a lecture on the occasion and highlighted the historical aspect and significance of the event. Principal SK Nirmal Goyal highlighted the importance of the National Cadet Day. Satvir Singh, ANO, and other staff members were also present. TNS
