Standing ovation for story-telling artistes at Tagore Theatre

Stories of Ismat Chughtai and Patras Bokhari were performed by three versatile artistes from Mumbai

An evening of story-telling, “Shaam-e-Quissagoi”, was held at Tagore Theatre, here today. Stories of Ismat Chughtai and Patras Bokhari were performed by three versatile artistes from Mumbai.

Actor Payal Nair, noted for her performance in film “Chhapak”, enacted the first story “Chidi ki Dukki” (Ismat Chughtai).

It was followed by another Ismat Chughtai story “Gharwali” by Chandan Anand, another well-known film actor.

The last story of the evening was “Marhoom ki Yaad Mein” by Patras Bokhari, was performed by theatre artiste Tariquee Haameed.

The stories, expressed in Urdu, found much resonance with audience. The performance received a standing ovation. The evening was organised in collaboration with Triveni Sangeet Sabha.
