Storm: 20 flights cancelled, two diverted at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Mohali

All flight arrivals from Srinagar cancelled

Twenty flights were cancelled and two diverted due to bad weather and operational reasons at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Mohali, today.

Nine arrivals and 11 departures were cancelled as strong winds and rain lashed the Tricity since last night.

The flight arrival from Hyderabad at 12:05 noon had to be diverted to Delhi. The Srinagar flight could not arrive at 12:55 noon due to bad weather. Similarly, the Chennai flight (2 pm) was diverted to Jaipur.

The international flight from Abu Dhabi arrived slightly behind schedule. The departure to Dubai had to be delayed by around one hour. No flight from Srinagar could arrive here. Most of the cancellations were in the afternoon and evening hours.

Nine arrivals — Srinagar, Jaipur, Delhi (two), Mumbai, Bengaluru, Srinagar, Jaipur and Bengaluru — had to be cancelled for various reasons.

Similarly, departures remained patchy with 11 flights being cancelled. Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Srinagar, Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Srinagar, Delhi, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad were cancelled.
