Student Police Cadet project launched in Fatehgarh Sahib

The district police have launched a Student Police Cadet (SPC) programme to inculcate social values, discipline and responsible citizenship among schoolchildren.

Launching the initiative at Government Senior Secondary School, Kotla Bajwara, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shubham Aggarwal said the programme aimed to shape students into responsible citizens by promoting social values, civic sense and community engagement from an early age.

He also planted saplings on the school campus and stressed the need to protect the environment. The SSP urged every student to plant and nurture at least one tree on his or her birthday. He also advised students to pursue skill-based and professional courses alongside formal education to build successful careers.

DSP (Headquarters) Hartej Kaushik highlighted the pivotal role of teachers in shaping society, describing them as guides worthy of the highest respect. As part of the programme, police officials planted around 40 saplings, honoured meritorious students with certificates and checked the school’s mid-day meal, appreciating its quality.

Principal Gurdeep Kaur thanked cops for launching the initiative in the school.
