Members of the Punjab Students' Union on Wednesday staged a protest against the Centre for the implementation of the New Education Policy-2020 and the privitisation of colleges in the state.

They marched towards Chandigarh but were stopped near the Sectors 62-51 road. The police used mild force to disperse the protesters as they marched towards Chandigarh. Some suffered minor injuries.

The Chandigarh Administration had promised to arrange a meeting with the Education Minister on April 6. Punjab Students Union state president Ranveer Kurar, said the union held a rally and marched towards the Union Territory.
