Chandigarh: The Department of Philosophy organised a national symposium on ‘literature and critical rationality in the times of autonomy’ by Krishna Kumar, Professor, Department of Education, PU, and Former Director, NCERT, New Delhi. Krishna Kumar discussed about how higher education is facing the issue of autonomy and how this has been going on since the colonial time. In the second session, Prof Harjinder Singh (Laltu), Centre for Computational Natural Science and Bioinformatics, IIIT Hyderabad, recited his poem “The Devil within Us”. 

Lecture on meditation

Chandigarh: Interdisciplinary Centre for Swami Vivekananda Studies organised a lecture on meditation based on yogic transmission, highlighting the practice as described in ancient scriptures. The lecture was held under the centre’s U-Connect programme of Shri Ram Chandra Mission. Joshua Pollock, a trainer and practitioner from the US, was the speaker. TNS
