Theft at factory

Chandigarh: Raw material worth around Rs 3.50 lakh was reportedly stolen from a factory at the Industrial Area, Phase II. According to the police, the complainant, Rajinder Singh, reported that an unknown person stole machinery parts, copper pipe and wire worth Rs 3.50 lakh from the factory on the intervening night of March 9 and 10. A case has been registered at the Sector 31 police station. The police have begun an investigation into the matter. TNS

Anant in 3-way lead on day 3

Chandigarh: Anant Ahlawat carded a disappointing 7-over 79 but managed to stay in the lead on the third day of the Samarvir Sahi Amateur Golf Championship at the Chandigarh Golf Club here on Thursday. Delhi's Harshjeet Sethie and Kolkata's Sandeep Yadav shared the top spot with Ahlawat. Haryana's Kartik Sharma and Aditya Chahal and Gujarat's Jay Pandya are a couple of shots behind in tied second position with a total of 222. TNS

RTW venue shifted due to rain

Chandigarh: Intermittent rain over the last few days forced the organisers of the Road to Wimbledon (RTW) Junior Masters on Thursday to shift the venue of the tournament from the Chandigarh Club to the CLTA Complex. The next round matches will start at 9 and on Friday at the CLTA courts, the organisers said. TNS
