The police have arrested three suspects for the murder of a native of Chamoli, Uttarakhand, on March 1.

The complainant, Deepak Khanna, had reported that he rented out two rooms to Chamoli native Anand Singh and his family. Dyal Singh was living with them in the rented accommodation for the past six months. He used to work as a waiter with a catering firm. Dyal used to consume liquor and abuse Anand’s daughter, and also had ill intentions towards her. Anand’s son, Manish, objected to Dyal’s behaviour and used to have quarrels with him.

On the night of March 1, Dyal and Manish picked a fight, after which Manish reportedly called his uncle’s son and a friend, both minor. They reportedly stabbed Dyal to death. The police arrested Manish within 12 hours and the two minors a day later.
