Three arrested with illegal arms, ammo

The police have arrested three men after recovering illegal weapons and ammunition from their possession.

According to the police, a CIA team got a tip-off that Vikas, alias Lucky, of Badala village, who had cases for assault and possession of arms registered against him, was carrying illegal weapons. He was nabbed near Badala and illegal weapons were recovered from his car.

The police then tracked down another member of his group, Sonepat’s Anish Kumar who was currently living in Chandigarh. Anish was facing cases in Amritsar, Faridkot and Mohali for illegal weapons and brawls. Pradeep Singh of Badala village in Nawanshahr was also arrested. Pradeep has no previous case registered against him.

The police recovered three .32-bore pistols, a .30-bore pistol, a .45-bore pistol and a .12-bore pistol, along with a large number of live cartridges and empty shells from them. A .45-bore pistol was also recovered from the terrace of the Kharar flat of absconding accused Sajan.
