In Sector 15, one of the city’s most popular hubs for Holi gatherings, police maintained a strong presence to ensure peaceful celebrations. Barricades were erected at key entry and exit points, and vehicles were checked to prevent outsiders from entering the residential area. Officers were deployed in adequate numbers to manage crowds and deter any untoward incidents.

Similar security arrangements were enforced around the campus of Panjab University, where Holi celebrations traditionally attract large gatherings of students and visitors. Authorities restricted entry of non-students and monitored movement at the university gates. Identity cards were checked, and additional patrol teams were stationed inside and outside the campus to maintain law and order.

Senior police officials stated that the measures were precautionary, aimed at preventing hooliganism and ensuring the safety of residents and students. Quick Response Teams and PCR vehicles were kept on standby, while CCTV cameras were closely monitored throughout the day.

Despite the tight security, the festive spirit remained undeterred. Families, students and local residents celebrated responsibly, with many appreciating the visible police presence for contributing to a safe and orderly environment.
