The action came amid a wider crackdown ordered by Commissioner of Police Pankaj Nain against vehicles using black film and other traffic rule violations, aimed at keeping traffic safe, smooth and rule-compliant.

Nain said the use of black film on vehicle windows in violation of rules was not merely a traffic offence but a serious safety concern, since visibility into a vehicle’s interior is important during checking and security inspections. He said strict action would continue against drivers found violating traffic norms.
