Top seed Saanvi cruises into 2nd round



Chandigarh, September 20

Top seed Saanvi Garg blanked Diza Chadha 6-0 6-0 in a girls’ U-16 category match on the opening day of the Roots-AITA TS(7) National Ranking Championship today.

Second seed Isheeta Midha moved into second round with 6-2 6-3 win over Jasmine Kaur, while Ajenika Puri registered a 7-6(5) 6-1 win over Vanshika Yadav. Paavni Panwar drubbed Mankirat Kaur 6-0 6-0.

Poonam edged out Naisha Garg, while Tamanna Walia thrashed Mokshika Yadav 6-2 6-0. Agampreet Kaur started her campaign with 6-0 6-0 win over Pratishtha Sharma.

In the boys’ U-16 category, Parth Sharma eased into the second round with a 6-0 6-1 win over Shourya Chhabra, while Parmarth Kaushik outplayed Angad Singh 6-2 6-1.

Aditya Rathore defeated Sachit Thakur 7-5 6-4 and Armaan Walia overcame Sneh Kashyap 6-4 6-1. Anish Sharma got the better of Madhav Chadha. He won 6-1 6-3. — TNS
